Watersports clubs in the UK including windsurfing , parasailing , surfing. powerboating, diving - sub aqua, white water rafting and jetskiing

Watersports of all kinds are becoming increasingly popular around the UK, both inland and on the coast. In fact, wherever you live, if you're interested in learning windsurfing, parasailing, jetskiing, surfing and a plethora of other watersports, there's likely to be a club within easy reaching distance.

Natural lakes are the obvious choice for watersports of all kinds although man-made lakes and reservoirs are also utilised, as are many rivers. And with our long and varied coastline, it stands to reason that there's a water sport available for everyone.

Learning one of the many watersports available, whether you choose to try parasailing on the Humber river, surfing in Plymouth or diving in Southampton, is an exhilarating experience for both the novice and the expert alike. So much so that most find that once they've tried one or more watersports, they're hooked for life!

A certain degree of fitness is necessary, more so with some watersports than others. While surfing requires a high level of stamina and muscle power, and diving schools will rarely accept new students without them first having undertaken a full medical, other watersports such as jetskiing are accessible to most whose of good general health.

What's more, many watersports such as windsurfing, parasailing, and jetskiing can be enjoyed abroad, bringing an added dimension to traditional beach holidays.

It's suggested that those interested in learning one or more watersports should join a club offering properly managed beginner courses that cover safety and equipment as well as teaching how to carry out your chosen sport and enquire beforehand whether there are any restrictions with regards to age and health.

It's also worth keeping in mind that while some watersports, such a windsurfing and parasailing, may appear to be the realm of the super fit, there are different levels of the sport and only by contacting a club or training centre that specialises in your chosen water sport will you know for sure whether there's anything on offer for you. Sometimes you could be surprised at how easy a sport is, even though it may look as if it's something best left to the professionals!
