The most famed rowing race in the UK is undoubtedly 'The Boat Race', an annual rowing race held in the Spring between the rowing clubs of Oxford University and Cambridge University on the River Thames, from Putney to Mortlake, where an estimated quarter of a million spectators watch the race from the river's banks.
